NE CO | In response to your wheat planting depth question, most people plant as deep as required to get into the moisture, especially those of us with hoe style drills. This year good moisture so only had to cover the seed 1". Sometimes we goe as deep as 3", but things start to get dicey then. The wheat variety books usually specify coleoptile length. Sometimes I have to choose my variety based on how deep I will need to plant that year. | |
