Gary didn't add any narrative of his own-disappointing.

But-I tried to read thru the Iowa stuff. Hope I understood it OK. One thing I didn't see was advocating "reducing" fertilizer rates when banding. Did I miss it?

I saw many comments tying banding to to no-till or ridge till. I believe they commented there was no response when conventional tilling.

I believe they made mention of corn roots in nt & rt that tend to stay towards surface & not seek lower nutrients/moisture. I believe that's what I said in my "mohawk" comment.

I'm not questioning strip till. I'm just not certain about this being able to cut fertilizer use in 1/2 (or some finite reduction) on a long term (10-50 yrs) basis.
