My experience is the opposite with regards to #3. “Water cooler talk” and small talk can kill productivity. Give me a phone call or email with documented questions/wants/needs. This allows timing of answering the questions instead of being at the whim of everyone who just pops their head in. Nothing kills productivity like being in the middle of a thought process and getting pulled 180 degrees in another direction.
