Mid-Michigan | I farmed with my father and brother for 30 years. Dad made all the decisions at first but as time went on and he felt it was right made less and it wasn't to many years until we realized that he had turned everything over to the kids so to speak. Don't be in a big hurry as grampa and dad will be gone and you will wish they were back even if just for a sounding board. I would only tell you to talk things over and clear the air so to speak. I wish you well. Farming with family is no pie in the sky but can be a wonderful thing too. Its not easy for a father to let go and its not easy for a son to tell a father what to do let alone a grand father. Have been both, father and son, but I had a special father that I wish everyone would have. Once again I wish you all well. | |
