Since you are in an area that is short on hay this year and the nutrients aren't an issue I would bale the corn stalks off and sell them. I don't know what the going rate for corn stalks are right now but they would return a profit as apposed to a mini moldboard plow or a disk ripper that will require burning alot of $2.80 diesel. If the stalks were raked and baled without mowing them it will still leave some residue for erosion control but will take enough off that planting next spring will be no problem at all.
