great idea Cliff - rake and bale cornstalks which are probably useful for the feedlot anyway!

I am usually not a fan of baling cornstalks unless manure is supplied in return. In the original post the liquid is being returned although it would be interesting to see what the nutrient analysis of the lagoon liquid is. Lagoons may be super high in P but low on N???

But the ideas of leaving enough stalk to catch the snow and wind but getting much of it off makes sense in this case. Good discussion. Almost makes you want to be located next to a feedlot eh??
