BTOs son that’s never worked a day in his life. That convo will stick with me forever. Looked down on for working full time to build things up. But the POS little prick that’s never earned a thing gets a call because his daddy has pretty equipment.
Stay ready for crappy convos. Gotta let some go. But then again let some drive you as well.
Early 30's and have had a identical conversation as well, "what do you need ground to rent, you have a full time job". Then brags about the new piece he just picked up. Have had others talk about wondering how can a young guy ever get a chance yet they will only rent to whoever they can get the last penny out of. Then you get into the custom work side of things to try to gain ground only to have guys flat out tell you they hope you don't pick up more ground to rent or more custom acres so they can "get you when I want you".
To the point that I would seriously consider relocating maybe 30-60 miles if it would give an opportunity. |
