central PA | Don't think anyone accused them of farming for a loss just to have more acres. But lets also face it, you end up getting better pricing when buying your inputs in larger quantities and if you have a large stash of bushels to market you can usually get a little better price at times. And along with all that they don't need to see as much of a profit per acre when running a large spread.
Is what it is and I would gladly offer what it would take to rent ground if it shows its profitable but in the end they will settle for the guy that already has another 1,000 acres or willing to give another 25 an acre since their inputs are a bit less. | |
