Sorry to hear this.....Its funny sometimes...Old people or people disconnected with farming have a thing about them....The Old people want to be in the "club" either at the coffee house, or at the elevator BS room... They want to be able to say..."yep, I got top dollar from So and So BTO for my acres" Its almost like they are shamed into it, or its a competition to say they got more than than the other retirees. The other way it goes is the disconnected family from the city inherits grandpas farm, and the first thing they do is go ask around at the elevator, or coffee shop, asking who is buying/paying the most for land in the area? Then proceed to ask them to buy the acreage... |
