West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | There is nothing wrong with my reading comprehension. The OP gave a "guess" of his speed when they hit the ditch. He also stated he had not looked at the speedometer before hitting the brakes. The OP has no idea how fast he was going before he "hit" the brakes or the ditch. Whatever the speed was, even if the true speed was 40, it was too fast for conditions if the anti-lock brake system was trying to engage.
As other forum users have replied, maybe the OP's Tesla can tell us all exactly how fast it was traveling when the OP "hit" the brakes? Maybe the OP's Tesla can tell us if the Tesla's brakes did fail?
