Subject: RE: EV news from ICE companies

Who said it was a farm putting 500 miles/day on a vehicle?

Ed brought up his 1500 mile trip home and questioned how much time the EV really added.  (Use "threaded view" if you're having trouble following along)   For him it's not a problem as he has plenty of time on his hands, for people that want to hurry up and get home its a deal breaker.

Vehicles that go on short runs here are all older vehicles that used to be a main vehicle.   I'm not buying a new EV for beating around with, that's what old low value cheap running vehicles are for.

The current (and future) main vehicle (the one that's gonna take the fam on vacation) needs to be able to go long distances without stopping for hours to "refuel".      No it won't do it everyday, but it needs to have that capability.    We do 500+ miles/day several times per year.   1000 miles/day isn't out of the question on long trips.

Like I've said before, lots of "Rah, rah" from the cheerleaders and a complete dismissal of any limitations.
