I have grown seed in previous years and some companies will actually pay a premium for larger seed from the grower because they know they will make more in return when they sell it to farmers again, like a lot of others I plant xxx seeds per acre so buying seed buy seed count would be easier and the fairest for most people that way seed costs for 165,000 plants per acre would be the same and also the tech fee would be less if you have a large bean no matter which variety you chose.
