Eastern Nebraska
We pay into that retirement and plan for it... it is not given to us.... We work more than 9 months out of the year we only happen to be in the buildings everyday 9 months out of the year. Saying that we only work 9 months is like saying that the farmer only really works for 9 months... don't you sit home all winter and do nothing????? About as much as we sit home all summer and do nothing. I am not sure what the hatered is that you all have for teachers. If you can read and write you need to thank a teacher for that.... Education enjoys government interference about as much as farmers do.... Please stop putting down teachers as getting such a free ride from the government... do farmers not get farm programs to help them out??? many more dollars than a teacher would ever get. Not saying you do not need or deserve it I am just trying to understand why a few of you seem to have such a hate for teachers and the education system. Especailly rodrod5 who happens to live in a state that has one of the worst education systems in America I will agree with that much with him. He likes to site articles so here a few for you..

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
