I found everytime I wanted to change something, another $75 letter went to her lawyer with the change request, then another $75 back, it adds up. Lawyers are in business for divorce cases. It is their bread and butter, and when the two can't talk and work out property settlement and other issues between themselves, then they have a money making case. As I said earlier, don't pizz her off with miss statements. Keep communicating, but keep it business.. And figure on giving her most of what she wants. And, figure that $40k it costs to break the bin deal really cost you $20k and a lot fewer headaches on repayment...Cost her the other $20k.
There is a lot of things she can legally ask you for you never dreamed of, and her lawyer will let her know what they are, and your lawyer can tell you if it is winnable in a fight. They love to fight at $150/hr.
First year is the toughest, from then on it just keeps getting better.
