E718's 4 cent/mile cost of operation is charging at home with cheap residential electric rates.


From Ed's previous threads bragging on his Tesla it appears like if you visit superchargers the cost of operating the EV isn't much or any less than a fuel efficient ICE vehicle.

If you're not visiting super/fast chargers that cost a lot more than standard residential electric rates, you're not going to make that trip in less than 3 days with an EV.


EV's certainly have their place but as of now their place isn't in my garage.    Maybe someday one will be parked here, but they've got a long ways to go before that will happen.
