As for charging, they need to ramp up turbines and solar panels near interstates. Especially in CO where there is nothing but tumbleweeds and gravel banks. Right by the charging stations. Solar panels could double as wind breaks increasing mileage for Ice and Evs alike.
EV's have their place in moving people. I can't see it ever really being a thing moving freight, No one is running an EV truck 600 miles because it doesn't work and won't for awhile. And it doesn't need to. Set up a dedicated truck land with a wire over the top. Then you can keep the battery size small. Or reexamine rail freight, most easily adapted to electric.
AG has real possiblities if you down-size and go autonomous with docking. 4 row units won't take much power. Three or four of them going 24-7 would get a lot done.
As usual, not a black and white issue, but many shades of gray. Henry ford barely beat the horse at first. Just too bad they didn't keep a e25 back then to moderate the supply of corn a bit...
